Each summer, the Iowa Jump$tart Coalition brings teachers together to learn the latest practices and technologies available to better teach personal finance to students. It works! Participating teachers take home dozens of ideas and free curriculum to use in their classrooms. They also have the chance to learn cooperatively in a workshop setting, while networking with other teachers.
A $150 sponsorship from your organization can provide a teacher with a great learning opportunity. This year’s conference is July 9-10 at Simpson College in Indianola. Educators may attend breakout sessions on a wide variety of financial literacy topics and also hear from an amazing ensemble of keynote speakers. All of these sessions will be geared toward helping teachers in their development of curriculum that can teach students how to be financially literate. As an extra bonus, teachers can get graduate or staff development credit by attending this conference.
